Runaway Love Train

Ever stood on the edge of a cliff and tasted the sheer thrill at the risk of it? Ever been close to a rampaging animal or been rocked by a passing train that thundered past and was gone? They say you can’t grasp what being in love is like until you’ve experienced it. One person becomes incandescent for you and the rest of the world is dimmed. The trouble is that love, like a runaway train, rushes headlong who knows where? Exhilarating, exhausting and wild. Yet love’s train is often detoured… sometimes the train derails. If you survive that crash you’ll tell yourself never to climb aboard another or stand too close to the edge…. and you’ll probably ignore that advice.

RUNAWAY LOVE TRAIN

It’s funny how

You make a vow

Never to love again

Avoid the tracks

And the impact

Of a runaway love train

You give yourself sound advice. “Don’t go playing on the rails, don’t go putting your heart on the line.” But it fails, you ignore the signals every time.

Take the footbridge

Keep a clear head

Don’t stray far from reason

There’s trouble there

The blinding glare

Of a runaway love train

You give yourself sound advice. “Don’t go playing on the rails; don’t go putting your heart on the line.” But it fails, you ignore the signals every time.

Bystanders know

The going’s slow

As you near the station

But out on the line

They swear blind

Of a runaway love train

You give yourself sound advice. “Don’t go playing on the rails; don’t go putting your heart on the line.” But it fails, you ignore the signals every time.
