Safe harbour

There are storms in life that cut us adrift from all that we know. With terrible and irreversible force they wrench us from all that we hold dear, loosening our grip till we have no choice but relinquish or be destroyed. At times like this it seems unimaginable that we could ever love again and invest our lives in another securely. Part of the pain of this cruel tearing is that we discover truths about ourselves and about the walls we built around our fragility. But, sometimes life’s storms can throw us into a better place, sometimes our storms can sweep us into loving arms.

SAFE HARBOUR

I want someone

to prefer me near

someone to miss me

when I’m away

I need someone

to warm to my touch

to share passion and calm

and welcome my praise

I’m on a quest once again

So much love to give

I long to sail into your safe harbour

Only there dare I live

I'm on a quest once again So much love to give I long to sail into your safe harbour Only there dare I live.

I’m on a quest once again
So much love to give
I long to sail into your safe harbour
Only there dare I live.

Call me close

wherever you are

let my delight

be your release

maybe this storm

will send me to you

to share passion and calm

mutual discovery
